Mushtaq Dar is an Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of Jammu & Kashmir (AIBE Qualified), practising in the Litigation & ADR team at IMR Law Offices under the guidance of Advocate Viqas Malik, Partner Litigation & ADR. He regularly appears before the District Courts of Srinagar, Budgam and appears in matters before the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. He began his litigation career at the District Courts of Anantnag and Kulgam, where he handled land, succession, and commercial matters.
His litigation practice covers civil disputes, land and revenue matters, property litigation, and commercial disputes. He handles suits for declaration, possession, injunction, partition, and specific performance, as well as title disputes and mutation challenges under J&K land laws. He drafts pleadings, petitions, affidavits, and legal submissions, and assists in trial preparation and evidence strategy.
Mushtaq is a CADRE Certified Arbitrator registered with ODR platforms, through which he has adjudicated loan financing and commercial disputes. He handles arbitration proceedings under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, including notices, statements of claim, and counter-claims.
He is also a registered Trademark Attorney with IP India (Attorney Code: 42874), advising startups, businesses, and content creators on trademark filing, opposition proceedings, brand protection, copyright compliance, and IP licensing.
Prior to moving to full-time litigation, Mushtaq advised 25+ startups and SMEs on commercial contracts, legal structuring, and regulatory compliance at IMR Law Offices. He has drafted NDAs, service agreements, hotel management agreements, franchise deeds, and lease agreements, and handles property documentation including sale deeds and NGDRS registrations.
